Education Council

The mission of the Education Council is to be the “Student Voice for the College of Education” and represent all majors and organizations within the college in the Senate of College Councils. The Council strives to bring all of the majors together for fun, service and leadership.

The Education Council is the official channel for student participation in policy-making and the development of student activities within the College of Education. To encourage communication and assure that students’ concerns are being heard, the Council has weekly meetings where anyone from the college or other educational fields can bring their concerns or aspirations. The Council provides volunteer opportunities within the University as well as in the community with such programs as: Longhorn Schoolbus, Longhorn Halloween, Explore UT, Fall Fest, etc. The Education Council also staffs College of Education Week and Faculty/Staff Appreciation Week. Each semester there is a banquet along with fun events like kayaking, getting frozen yogurt at TCBY, and bowling.

Education Council is open to anyone registered in the College of Educations as well as those who are interested in Education or related fields. Education Council offers opportunities for volunteering, meeting new people through fun events and activities, and getting involved with the College of Education.

Meetings are held every Wednesday at 6 p.m. in SZB 330 and usually last about an hour. The Council discusses issues from Senate, upcoming events and organizational announcements.

A website will be coming soon.
