Committees
Presidents Committee
The Presidents Committee is made up of the president from each council, the Senate Chair (Chair), and the Senate Vice-Chair. The Committee addresses university issues through appointments held by the Chair such as advisory committees to the President of The University and the Tuition Policy Advisory Committee. The Committee also originates amendments to the Constitution and Bylaws and may originate resolutions.

Finance Committee
The Senate Financial Committee is made up of the financial director of each council and the Senate Financial Director (Chair). The Committee appropriates money from the Student Services Fee to registered student organizations, acts as a forum of communication on financial matters including questions on spending, fundraising, and best practices. The Committee also advises the Executive Board on budgetary decisions regarding council allocations and is the originator of spending bills and amendments to the Internal Spending Rules.

Senate Representatives Committee
The Representatives Committee is made up of the Senate representative of each council and the Senate Vice Chair (Chair). The Committee serves as a forum for communication on issues and events of the councils, distributes academic issues to academic committees, and acts as a provider of academic and informal programming

Students for Academic Integrity
Students For Academic Integrity (SFAI) is a standing Senate Committee committed to promoting honesty and integrity throughout the UT community. SFAI works with faculty, administrators and other students to promote and integrate the UT honor code in every academic area on campus. We accomplish our goal by implementing programs such as Integrity Week, writing legislation supporting academic issues, launching promotional campaigns, and working in cooperation with organizations across campus.

Faculty Affairs Committee
The Senate Faculty Affairs Committee is dedicated to fostering a closer relationship and a deeper appreciation between UT students and their faculty through various programs designed to showcase honorary professors and encourage camaraderie between students and faculty. The Committee is responsible for planning and organizing traditional Senate faculty appreciation events such as the Faculty Appreciation Banquet and Faculty Appreciation Week. Additionally, the Faculty Affairs Committee researches related policy issues and reports findings to the Senate Assembly and appropriate administrators.

Recruitment and Retention
The Recruitment and Retention Committee exists for the purposes of increasing the retention of first year students as well as utilizing recruitment programs to promote the pursuit of a higher education at The University of Texas. Included in these programs is Longhorn School Bus, a biweekly event that allows elementary school students to visit the campus and learn about college life.

Curriculum
The Curriculum Committee researches, writes legislation, and works to improve curricular issues that impact the student academic experience. The committee aims to initiate and facilitate curricular changes by implementing ideas expressed in documents such as the Commission of 125 and the Task Force on Curricular Reform and by assisting Councils across campus in their efforts for college-specific curricular changes.

Multimedia and Publicity
The Multimedia and Publicity Committee is responsible for ensuring Senate is being represented correctly among the University community. The committee publicizes all Senate events and programs in addition to assisting Senate committees with their events. Publicizing events include designing ads, flyers, posters and any other forms of publicity needed in order to adequately inform the University community about Senate, and its programs

Fundraising
This is Senate’s newest committee, dedicated to supporting Senate’s mission by planning university-wide events and fundraisers. We are looking for entrepreneurial-minded students with the creativity necessary to ensure the success of unprecedented Senate initiatives. Members of this committee will be given the opportunity to utilize Senate’s substantial resources to research, plan, and execute new programs that will provide additional resources to Senate.
